Seaweed — superior nutrition for pets.
Available at your local grocery store.
Pets are part of the family, so their food is every bit as important as ours. We’re now proud to offer Supreme Source® pet food with a USDA organic seaweed that’s nutrient-rich and helps promote pet digestion. And the best part? You can find it at your local grocery.
Process and Quality
We source our USDA organic seaweed from the crisp, rocky shores of Nova Scotia, and there’s a reason for that. Harsh conditions make this strain of seaweed naturally resilient to environmental stress, and that same toughness is intact as it’s carefully sun-dried and blended into our pet food.
If it sounds remarkable, we certainly agree—that’s why we thoroughly test to ensure quality and maintain standards with research team partners across the world verifying our results and claims.
Seaweed provides an incredibly rich source of nutrients for dogs and cats that you won’t find in everyday pet food products. Delivering a powerful prebiotic punch in every bite, seaweed helps promote healthy digestion, may support intestinal health, helps boost the overall immune system, and more.
Unlike traditional seaweed farms that tear up the roots of the plant with a machine, this seaweed is hand-harvested in small batches. It’s actually even more challenging than that — this strand of seaweed can only be harvested when the tide is coming in or going out. Since the window for picking is so small, our farmers are skilled in selecting the healthiest seaweed possible and harvesting only from the top of the plant.
Collecting this way helps keep the local ecosystem stable — after all, we’re not the only ones that depend on this valuable source of nutrition. It also ensures that the plant can grow back quickly, providing batch after batch of nutrient-rich seaweed.
